Ms. Sharon Jenkins who has been assigned as a Volunteer Advocate since August 13, 1999, completed training as a
Court Appointed Special Advocate to work on behalf of the District of Columbia Family Court. She was assigned to
two D.C. children. The children in the Court's custody, had been removed from their home.
When the Court assumed custody, one of the children had a poor record of school attendance, and along with her
sibling, lacked the basic necessities of life. As a result, they were placed in the custody of a relative.
Ms. Jenkins reviewed the court and social welfare records which documented the goal for these children as potential
permanent placement with the care giver relative with little likelihood for reunification. She visited regularly with both children,
and kept in touch with them by telephone during interview periods. She communicated in writing to the Family Court judge
and other case principals regarding the educational and developmental needs of the children including visitation with
the children's mother and other siblings. In all of her activities, Ms. Jenkins demonstrated keen insight, knowledge and
sensitivity to the children's developmental and family issues. Through her devotion and attention, both children enjoyed
numerous outings, church attendance, book readings, museum, learning experiences, birthday celebrations, and
schooling assistance. With Ms. Jenkins' personal, dedicated, and exemplary service both of these children
have grown and progressed educationally and socially over the past almost four years of devoted services.
As a result, the children's court case was successfully closed through their recent adoption.
Ms. Jenkins devotion to duty and performance as a Volunteer Advocate was exemplary.

Ms. Jenkins who was ready to work! She asked key questions, began to formulate a plan for the investigation and promised to
return my call again with any follow-up questions she may have. Well, while I was expecting just a follow-up call, I received a
call that was full of promise, providing answers, and asking for more information.

I highly recommend SJ Investigative Services. I am an investigator with a California Public Defender's Office. We had a death penalty case and desperately needed a witness located in the Washington DC/Maryland area. I pulled Sharon's business off of the internet as my department did not want to spend the money to send me to DC. We had some information on our witness and had written him a few letters, all of which he ignored. Sharon was able to track him down for us and locate some court files that we had no idea of where they were located. Sharon kept me updated on her results and sent documents in a timely fashion.
